About

I discovered I had an affinity for photography while living in Egypt. The tip of the Sinai peninsula is a huge tourist attraction for diving. Our instructor would let me borrow her underwater camera; I enjoyed the challenge of stabilizing myself to try and get the right angle and focus while all manner of aquatic life went about their business.

I did not seriously pursue photography until a few years later. I poured myself into developing my skills as a photographer; I watched videos on Lightroom and Photoshop, bought a fancy Nikon D7000 camera, and set out on shooting adventures. I was living in Germany at the time; every weekend I would set a route consisting of a few towns and see what I happened to see. It is incredible what you can stumble across when you're not really looking for anything in particular. I have sold work and done photoshoots, but my favorite times will always be those German expeditions. The thrill of the hunt!

As I became accustomed and mildly addicted to that thrill, I found myself going where I knew I wasn't allowed. I remember jumping over a barrier to snap away at an art installation in Schiphol airport. I was kicked out after only about 5 minutes; that was unfortunate because I had a long layover and I could have stayed in there snapping away for hours. Everything and Nothing and The Warp Riders were taken there. Gladly, I was not arrested and the security guard was even nice enough to hold my camera as I jumped back over the barrier. No harm no foul? In the end they are just pictures; everywhere I'm not supposed to be I act with care and appreciation for the place and the opportunity.

I enjoy editing just as much as the hunt. I have spent days moving sliders in Lightroom in attempt to perfect each image. As my Photoshop skills improved I loved using my imagination to make the impossible possible. I turned clear skies overcast in Global Warming, captured the heartless ghost of Lichtenau Fortress in Forty-Six & 2, and made a client's daughter a bloodthirsty zombie for Halloween in 976-EVIL. I've always wanted to do a heavily edited conceptual series of images tailored to a theme, maybe someday in the future when I'm feeling especially inspired.

If you'd like to check out more of my images, a lot more, there is a Flickr link at the top right-hand side of the screen.

Photography was there for me when I needed it the most; I am forever grateful.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my work!
